I have no idea which section to put this in but I have a question about my sim card.

When I was last in China I purchased a China mobile sim card while in Guangzhou. I used it for my trip in and around Yunnan with no problems. That was at the end of september.
I am back in China later this month and wanted to know if it will still be ok to use for my trip around Guangxi and Hunan.
I have been told that my credit will have run out, that I accept. But can I continue to use my card by just adding more credit when I arrive, or will I need to buy new card?

Dave, you needn't buy a new one. You can continue to use it if you recharge for your cellphone. The only condition is that your cellphone number hasn't been cancelled. If I remeber it correctly, your cellphone number will be cancelled if you don't pay for it for six months. The easiest way is to dial 10086 to get the details. Don't worry! The operator can speak English.

BTW, if you want to keep your cellphone number and use it when you arrive in China next time, you can ask help from your cellphone server (China Mobile or China Unicom). Usually, you have to charge a certain amount of money in your card. The fee varies from places to places. However, a notice released by the authorities says that the fee has been lowered to 5 yuan per month since July 1st in 2007. I don't know if it has been implemented successfully.
