want to get to the Great Wall from Shanghai

guest24412	I'm going to be in Shanghai from July 1 - 21 and wish to also visit the Great Wall. Does anyone know a quick and direct route for a short visit? Thank you.

Overnight train (or flight if you have a lot of money) Shanghai -- Beijing, visit Great Wall, back the same way.
It usually takes half a day or a day to see the Great Wall including round-trip transport from Beijing. There're public buses, or you could go with a hostel's day tour (eg http://www.backpackingchina.com/nr/greatwall.html or http://www.leohostel.com/index_files/leotours.htm), or hire your own vehicle and driver.

There are FIVE section opened Great Wall in Beijing. Badaling Great Wall, Juyong Pass Great Wall, Simaitai Great Wall, Mutianyu Great Wall, Jinshanling Great Wall and some unopened Great Wall like Jiankou Gteat Wall. There are different distance from Beijing City, ticket and beauty.
Which one do you prefer? The website have detailed information about above Great Wall including introduction, ticket, distance from Beijing City, transportion and aroud landscapes.
