I browsed a piece of news about the upcoming Canton Fair. I think it will be useful for some of you. I summarize the news. If you want to see the original text in detail, please visit Shanghai Daily( The original title is Canton Fair puts ban on crook)

The China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair)’s organizing committee will for the first time put ban on participants who have criminal records. The potential exhibitors and journalists are required to submit a documentation testifying that they do not have criminal record, but the overseas participants are exempt from the ban.

The Canton Fair organizing committe said that it is for the sake of safety during the event.Well, it has caused controversies among the potential vistors. The new rule will cause inconvenience for the domestic exhibitors and journalists, since exhibitors have to go to the public security bureau or provincial trade delegations to apply for the documentation: While, journalists have to go to the public security bureau or media officials who issue the documentation.

The undertone of the policy seems to be that “once you are a criminal, you will be a criminal forever”.
