The trunk of the tree is less than 600 years old—but its roots date back to 9,550 years ago, making it the world's oldest known living tree in Sweden.(National Geographic)

Fascinating. Can't say too much about it's shape though. Of course, at 9550 yrs. of age, what can a person expect.

How can someone know its that old? is it shown on the census of that year as a twig?

Using a carbon dating method in laboratory. This test have been done in Miami, Florida.
