![]() | As the WTO suggests, the world trade growth fell sharply in 2007 due to financial turbulence and surging commodity prices. It is estimated that the world trade volume in 2007 increased about 5.5 percent, lower than that in 2006, 8.5 percent. According to IMF, the trade growth this year might slow down to 4.5 percent, the lowest since 2002. Some economists comment that this prediction might be too optimistic.
