guest46235	Hi all, I will be travelling to China soon and I need to go to Mexian which is the place where my ancestors came from. Can anyone help me as how to get to Mexian by bus from Guangzhou? I will need the following information: 1/ the bus route to go to Mexian from Guangzhou 2/ the timetable of the buses departing from Guangzhou to Mexian (the time of the first and last bus) 3/ is there a regular bus service from Guangzhou to Mexian and what is the lapse of time between each bus 4/ the name of the station where i will need to go for the bus 5/ where i can get ticket I wish to thank everyone for your help Regards JN

ELLYSE Points: Join Date: Oct 30, 2005 Status: Offline	Please, it's Meixian not Mexian. It would be advisable to at least know how to spell correctly the name of the place that you want to go to, or else you might not get there! ;)

I thank you for your reply.
I have checked on the website (http://www.maps-of-china.com/guangdong-s-ow.shtml) and it's spelled as Mexian and not Meixian. You may see on the link as per above Mexian is found in the North east of the Guandong province, is there another place called Meixian in the Guandong province? I have heard old local people say that Mexian is also called Moiyan or Moiyen, can you please cross check if that is correct or did you hear something similar?

Well dear, then the website is wrong! There's no pinyin as "me", only "mei".
The website isn't working for me, anyway.
Chinese characters for that place is 梅县.
I think there're no direct buses from Guangzhou to Meixian. You should try for a bus to Meizhou, and ask the driver if he could drop you off at Meixian if the bus will pass by Meixian enroute. If not just go all the way to Meizhou and then get another bus to Meixian.
