Where to get tickets from shanghai to putuoshan?
Apr 20, 2008 05:28
guest37110 I want to go to Putuoshan on friday and take the overnight ferry. Does anyone know where the ticket office is (I think its not anymore in Jinling lu 1 - this building is being closed for renovation) and whats the opening hours?
How much in advance can I buy the ticket?
Where do the ferries actually leave?
Is there a telephone number for inquiry?

Any help to any of the questions is appreciated :-)

Ferry leaves from Wusong port at 2000. I think the tickets are sold at 59 Jinling Donglu (opening hours 0700--1730), and can be bought 2 days in advance ie you can buy Friday's tickets on Wednesday. If you speak Chinese, 63283120 might be of help.

GUEST37110 Hi,

thanks!
The booking office is not at Jinling Donglu anymore. Now its in Waima Lu close to Nanpu bridge - I was told.
I will try the phonenumber with some help of chinese friends - maybe the easiest way...

That's one of the sightseeing tour bus centres. When I got a ferry from there it wasn't the overnight ferry from Wusong port.
You tried looking for the ticket office at 1 Jinling Donglu, I named one at 59 Jinling Donglu. Maybe it just moved?

GUEST37110 Hi, you are right - other people told me it moved indeed to jinling lu #59.
And the one at Nanpu bridge should be for the fast ferries.

There're a number of ways. However I think the easiest for a traveller without knowledge of Chinese language would be to get one of those packages from Shanghai Stadium. At least you don't have to worry about getting transport connections.

It's there last June and the train left at 1930 from Shanghai.
