Beautiful Lake Qiandao
Apr 24, 2008 16:38
I've read a lot of fabulous stories about Lake Qiandao in Zhejiang. It's said to be far away off beaten tracks. Can anybody tell me if it's easy to travel there as non-chinese-speaking tourist? What are the best connections from Shaoxing via Chun'an to Huang Shan? Thanx.

Don't bother, I had some friends who went, they told me it's expensive and very touristy.
Going via Qiandaohu, or Chun'an? I think there's a Shaoxing -- Qiandaohu bus at 0715, and a Shaoxing -- Huangshan bus at 0610.

Thank you very much for the information...
Do you think it's too touristic to go there? I'm just interested in having a boat-trip on the lake and heard that it is very nice there - almost as nice as a boat trip on Li River. At the moment I think about going from Shaoxing to Tonglu by bus (do you have any informations about a bus connection?), continuing by boat to Meicheng and further to Chun'an. I also looking for a connection from Chun'an by boat and bus to Huang Shan.
What do you think about this trip?

Eh? Yes, too touristy.
I think there're 2 buses for Shaoxing -- Tonglu, one at 0655 and the other at 1230.
Why the fascination with boats?

I like the atmosphere of travelling on water with a nice view over the landscape, sliding from site to site. It's really relaxing - if the boat's not too overcrowded. Hmmm

Sounds unlikely for China!
