![]() | In the early morning, two trains collided in Shandong Province. According to the latest statistics, 66 died and 247 people were wounded in the train crash. Among them, 51 were badly wounded. ![]() | News reports death toll up to 70 tonight. It sure is a tragic accident and the timing is unfortunate. They are putting it down to human error unless it proves to be otherwise and two top level railway officials have already been sacked. Apparently one train jumped its tracks causing the carriages to roll onto the other line where a second train then crashed into the carriages already across the tracks. |

![]() | It sounds like a problem with track maintenance, it is a big problem keeping up with track inspections, where I work we have the offices of Network Rail who carry out the maintenance of the tracks in the UK and are always being fined for failing to keep up with the demands. Alan |
