Hi all

Does anyone have any experience travelling by train after chinese new year , I plan to leave on feb 10 , do you think this is a good idea or will it be to crazy? How long will I have to wait for a ticket?
I plan to go from Chongqing to Haikou on about feb 14th

I found this article here:

I've traveled a lot by train, according to my experience, if you take train right on the three days' holiday of Chinese new year that no many people travel around, it will be an easy tour. That's to say, on Feb 8,9 or 10.

I presume it's not a good idea to travel from Chongqing to Hainan by train on Feb 14, sounds really crazy ^_^.

While if you can get a sleeper berth ticket, your trip may be better since the munber of people in sleeper berth are restricted. Do not take hard seat, you'll find no where to stand or move a little there.
