Gong Bao Tofu!

Most people must have heard Gong Bao Ji Ding (The Sauted Chicken Cubes with Chili and Peanuts). It is the most famous Sichuan dish. I am wondering if you have heard of Gong Bao Dou Fu? It is similar to Gong Bao Ji Ding.

Materials:tofu (394 grams), salted peanuts (50 grams), 1 red pepper, 1 scallion, 2 slices ginger, some garlic and 8 dried chili.

Marinade: soybean sauce (2 tablespoons), rice wine (1 tablespoon), chicken powder (1/2 tablespoon), white sugar (4 tablespoons), white vinegar (4 tablespoons) and salt (1/3 tablespoon).

Seasonings: edible oil (2 bowls) and starch (1/2 tablespoon).

Step 1 Cut tofu into strips, the red pepper into lean strips too. Cut the garlic and ginger into slices, the scallion into sections. Mix 1/2 tablespoon starch with 3 tablespoons water together.

Step 2 Dip tofu strips in cornmeal and then place them on a plate.

Step 3 Pre-heat 2 bowls of edible oil and fry tofu strips.

Step 4 Fry ginger and garlic slices with dried red chili and then add red pepper strips in. Finally add 1 cup of water and boil them.

Step 6 Put fried tofu strips in the pan and stir them very well and then pour starchy water.
