On May 16th, the latest news came out from that area. Most pandas were safe though their homes were destroyed seriously---14 completely collapsed and 18 seriously damaged. Also it is confirmed that five staff there were dead and three pandas were lost. However, the frequently happened aftershock endangers pandas’ safety. At the same time, Wolong Panda Reserve has received 500000 yuan from China Wildlife Conservation Association for buying relief materials. No.1 After transferring to the safe area, the panda cubs were taken good care of by the staff. ![]() |
