YVONNE Points: Join Date: Nov 29, 2004 Status: offline	The Information Office of the State Council realeased the news that the death toll of “ 5.12 Earthquake” has mounted to 40,075, the injured increased to 247,645 up to 18:00 May 20th, 2008. Also, according to Xinhua News Agency, “a 60-year-old woman was rescued at 6:45 PM on Tuesday from rubble in Pengzhou, southwest China's Sichuan Province, more than 196 hours after the May 12 earthquake.” The woman was still consicious when the rescuers found her. It was the rainwater that saved her life. She lived on rainwater in the days following the earthquake and now is hospitalized in Huaxi Hosptal in Chengdu city.

Yesterday, a strong aftershocks measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale jolted Qingchuan County in Sichuan Province. It was the strongest aftershock since the 8.0-magnitude Wenchuan earthquake on May 12. The aftershock was felt across China. Two persons died, 480 injured in the aftershock.
