I have a problem, like so many foreigners in China at the moment. My F-visa runs out on 1st of July. I was planning to get a tourist visa from Osaka and then return to China for a month. I have a plain ticket from China back to my country of origin to show. Can I get this done? Will Chinese consulate in Japan issue tourist visas for foreigners, if I can provide an exit plane ticket from China? And also, does anyone know if it's possible to extend a tourist visa once back in China? It seems not, but some sources have said it could still be possible this summer.

Such a mafan, these new rules.

Anyone's helps & suggestions are highly appreciated.

Normally you should be able to get the visa in Japan. If you are not from one of the 33 countries, I would think you still can but from other reports you are likely to have to provide hotel bookings and an exit ticket.

You can apply for a new visa within China. Normally the limit is 30 days, but at present thay might well reduce that to as little as 7 days... time to pack up and get out!

I should have been clearer. You would normally expect to get a 11 month tourist visa from 1 July. Do not apply until a day or so before as the visa runs from the issue date, not the end of the prior visa. No problem that you are withouta visa a coupel of days while they process the new one.
