I am quite interested in duing that, but don't really have to much knowledge about China, therefore I hope that somebody could help me making this decision by answering (some of) my questions: 1.Is Zhongshan concidered a nice and safe city? 2.Is crime a concern at all? 3.What what would be a good area to live in Zhongshan? 4.How much is rent in average in this area? 5.Does anybody know a good website to look for appartments/ real estate in this area? 6.Is it easy to get arround via public transportation? 7.Is a car recommended at all? 8.As a person comming from the US what would I need to watch out for? 9.Generaly speaking are people open to foreigners? 10.What would be an appropriate salary to ask for as a (production) manager? 11.What are nearby cities? Would it be feasable to commute from Hong Kong? Thank you very much!!!

ELLYSE Points: Join Date: Oct 30, 2005 Status: Offline	2) I can't say for Zhongshan, but it's generally not a worry for mainland China. Except petty crime like pickpocketing in crowded areas -- this is NOT unique to China. 11) No. Guangzhou and Zhuhai are the next nearest cities.

JABAROOTOO Points: Join Date: Jul 4, 2005 Status: Offline	Why isn't your COMPANY doing all this research for you. Why do they want you to open a PLANT in Zhongshan if you/they know nothing about the place. Your questions relate to living conditions - not much to do with setting up a factory. Questions relating to this would be more imperative don;t you think......... What's with the salary question. Is that your Salary?????
