Underground city closed?

Hello!
I am visiting Beijing in the next two weeks. I was so looking forward to seeing the underground city but a friend said that it has been closed due to security concerns prior to the Olympics.
I have heard there are other entrances to the underground city…and also a youth hostel connected to the site. Does anyone have any other info available?

Even if you're local, it doesn't necessarily mean that you always have the most up-to-date information. No offence intended.
