The year of 2008 seems to be a disastrous year for China. Natural disasters hit China one after another. Snow disaster, earthquake and flood invaded China. A heavy rainstorm hit Chongqing yesterday because of strong convection. The city’s transportation was largely affected by the storm.

While the rain was heavy in the morning, the north side of town was not so bad and it was all over by lunchtime. I had no idea Nanbin Lu could flood like that. Nowhere near as bad as last summer when it rained non-stop for 24 hours.

Some storm water drains around Jiangbei overflowed dumping some pretty nasty looking stuff around the streets. My classroom ceiling sprung a leak in two places and we collected quite a lot of water in just a few minute in the buckets and basins we put out to collect it.
