Help! Train travel in China - Xi'an, Luoyang, Pingyao

guestLeaving soon!	Hi, Does anyone have any advice about train travel in China?? I'd like to know how long the trips take but keep getting mixed information! I will be coming from Xi'an to Luoyang (I think about 5 hours) but need to know if I can then travel direct from Luoyang to Pingyao by train? And if so, how long does it take? Also, is there a day train from Pingyao to Beijing? And how long does it take? Any tips would be really appreciated :)

Yes, there's a direct train for Luoyang -- Pingyao. However it doesn't originate in Luoyang, so I expect that it would be difficult to get sleeper tickets.

Luoyang -- Pingyao:
1166/1167 (2002--0612) 10h10min

There're 2 trains for Pingyao -- Beijing West. Both are mainly overnight, but one of them would spend a bit more time travelling in daylight hours, if that's what you're looking for.

Pingyao -- Beijing West:
K604 (1911--0639) 11h28min
1164 (2153--1011) 12h18min

GUEST22683	By the way, when looking up the train schedule, try to use a more accurate site, such as ChinaTravelGuide.com for English, or official site Shike.org.cn for Chinese. Be aware that the data on this site tends to be inaccurate. For example, for trains via "PINGYAO", it lists L28, A267 and A268, which do not even exist. The time for K237/K240 is not accurate, among many other problems.
