guest43190	Hello, I have recently recieved an opportunity to study at chongqing university of a minimum for 3 years. I am English and have never travelled to China, I would recieve a salery of 1400 yien a month. I'm not sure how far this would go in Chongqing, also I know no chinese language. I'v been told the people I will work with speek engilish, but I can forsee problems in day to day life through lack of language skills, Is there an English or european community, how different is day to day life in china than in england? What have others experiences been? Regards, Dave

In chongqing ,there is a foreigner community.for us they are foreigner,you too. the place is Yangrenjie.
but it is very far from Chongqing University,
You may contact one lady,she working with many foreigners in Chongqing ,you may contact her when you in Chongqing.She can speak some English,but not much.better to Email her.

By the way ,there are many foreigners in this city now,your life will not be boring.
you will be very welcome in this city.local people always very good to you.But chongqing people like spicy,innerpart of animal,put a lot of MSG ,take care of yourself,
Same dish,like kongpao chicken,in England and America is non-spicy,but in Chongqing,it is.
My home is Chongqing is just ,5KM to the Chongqing University.
If you need my help you can only call me ,0592-8500821.I can explain the local people what you want. Another thing ,local people always use the langue with different tone ,and completely different words some few thing compare to our mandarin.
I am in Xiamen now,may be will be back during the spring festive.
