I have heard that flights from Xian and Beijing to Jiuzhaigou are seasonal can any one tell me what time of the year these flights are possible

Starting in May and ending in October, IIRC.

The high season for touring Jiuzhaigou is from March 1st to October 31st. The best way is to take the flight from Beijing/Xi'an to Chengdu, then transfer to a bus to Jiuzhaigou. Beijing/ Xian--Chengdu flights run all the year round.

Taking the bus from Chengdu is no longer a practical option. That road goes right through the quake zone and has barely been opened for essential traffic transporting necessities.

What was once a ten hour plus trips will likely be more like 30 hours and for non essential travel I doubt you would get tickets.

You can fly from Chengdu all year weather permitting.
