Successive storm floods Guilin

Xinhua News Agency said that successive strong rainfalls hit Guilin in Southwestern China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In the 24 hours from 8pm June 11 to pm June 12, the Lingchuan County in north of Guilin has a rainfall of 324 millimeters, which sets a record high.

According to Guilin Meteorologic Department, the rain will stop on June 13 and June 14. Later, it will be rainy on June 16. Up to now, the main roads and streets have been flooded.

GUESTVICKI I feel very sorry for the business owners in West Street Yangshuo. At the height of the flood the water was chest high and many guests were stranded in the Youth hostel & small guest houses. By this morning the water had gone but the cleaning up has just begun. The loss of stock and of business is terirble, especially when combined with the lack of foreign tourists due to the visa clampdown.

GUEST14644 In your post you said there is a clamp down on visa. I have not heard this and am planning to go there in September. Do yo think there is a chance I won't be able to go? I have not heard this.
