| It is a fictive mansion by the author. The Grand View Park in Beijing and Shanghai were both ‘man-made’ to film TV series.... so i won't consider them very historic... or worthy to visit! Whilst it’s a fictional setting by the Qing Dynasty novelist, it has been debated that the author was inspired from a mansion of certain nobility of the period. Old Summer Palace and other locations in Beijing, Nanjing and Yangzhou have been suggested… |

| Yes, the Grand View Park大(dà)观(guān)园(yuán) is an important building in the story. The shooting location is in Beijing. The Town of Arches-She Xian( County) in Anhui province is also a shooting location. Some scenes were filmed there. Tangyue Memorial Archway in Shexian Huangshan City |
