![]() | The heavy rains have ravaged the Souththern parts of China in the past two weeks. At least 57 people have been killed and 1.27 million people were forced to relocate. Altogether 9 provinces have been severely affected by the rainstorms and floods including Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guizhou and Yunnan and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said the Ministry of Civil Affairs said on Sunday. 57 people were killed another people were reported missing on Saturday. Crops on 860,500 hectares of farms have been damaged. The direct economic loss has increased to 10.61 billion yuan (1.53 billion U.S. dollars). In the next few days, more rains will hit southern parts of China,said the National Meteorological Center. ![]() |
