Have you ever heard of these words in your office before? "You look very beautiful today!" (Actually, you are not a beautiful woman). "Rose, I haven't seen you for ages. You look great today!" (Only idiots believe that they are young forever. Time will sure leave wrinkles on your face.) "I really want to visit you but I am too busy...." (Just excuse) ........ Those are so called white lies in office. When hearing those white lies, how do you deal with them? One thing that I cann't understand is that almost all people say that they hate to be cheated by others. But why are they so pleased when being cheated? Why do they "cheat" others? By the way, it reminds me of two Chinese words 美女(beauty) and 帅哥 (handsome guy). Nowadays, as long as you are a human, you can be 美女(beauty) or 帅哥 (handsome guy). They have lost their original meaning, having become very common. Next time, if somebody calls you 美女(beauty) or 帅哥 (handsome guy), don't be surprised because everyone is 美女(beauty) or 帅哥 (handsome guy).

"You look very beautiful today!" Me: Thank you! (with a smile) "I haven't seen you for ages. You look great today!" Me: You too! (with a smile) "I really want to visit you but I am too busy...." Me: No problem! (with a smile) Could they be lying? Sure. But that is not my problem. If they say I am beautiful, then who am I to argue? Wooohooo!!! \^_^/ Heh... I wouldn’t let those things bother me. ^_^

"Hi Cherry. I must say, you look terrible today. Have you put on weight? And who cut your hair? It looks awful. Now, what would you rather hear? The above sentence, or a compliment?" GUEST72214, were you hurt by those "white lies"? Or you have been used to those lies? Without them, you will feel uncomfortable? By the way, it seems that you have put on weight or have been annoyed by awful cut. Otherwise, you won't be so impolite.

I understand you sentiment, Cherry, but the comments above are spot on. I just wish that the compliments were more in line with reality.
