Nanjing to vicinity

I will be in Nanjing for business trip and spend the weekend there in July. I wish to spend Saturday and Sunday to visit places outside Nanjing (some famous places). Can anyone please kindly offer some advice with transport details ? My preference is Huangshan, is it practical ? or Wuxi, Suzhou, etc ? I dont mind taking an overnight trains in other to save some time.

Huangshan is possible but very rushed.
Yangzhou would be a better idea.

Can you please offer some advice from nanjing to Yangzhou ? transport ?
and what can we do there within a day (sightseeing) ? My interest is scenery, with chinese historical element, or something like that. thanks.

Nanjing -- Yangzhou easily done by bus. I think it takes a couple of hours or so depending on traffic conditions.
Major places of interest would be Slender West Lake, Ge Garden, He Garden and Daming Temple.
