| According to Tibet Tourism Bureau, Tibet will be reopened to foreign tourists on June 25, 2008. Tibet was sealed off after the “Lhasa Riot” on March 14th. . Some facilities at the tourist attractions were damaged in the riot. Tibetan government restored the facility. Tibetan government made great efforts to maintain the social order of Tibet. On June 21, the Olympic torch was smoothly run in Lhasa. Tibet is now safe for foreign tourists. Tommorow, Tibet will be formally reopened to foreingn tourists. Good news to the tourists who want to explore the mysterious Tibet! |

| Samye Kloster, Drepung Monastery and Ganden Monastery are still inaccessible. Other attractions including Mount Everest (Mount Qomolangma) are open to the tourists. Individuals are not allowed to travel Tibet. Tourists must join a travel agency to tour Tibet because only travel agencies can apply for the Tibet travel permit. |
