How about the cost of the a private driver?

GUEST23626 It is too rush and you won't be able to enjoy much. Long men cave can be tour in half day or less but shaolin temple area is quite big and the time travel from luoyang to there is quite long from what i remember. It took one day for me tour shaolin, including kungfu performance, visiting the temple, etc. U can try to squeeze the two in one day though.

Day trip from where? There're Chinese tours which do that, so technically it's possible. However I'll warn you that "possible" isn't equal to "enjoyable" nor "recommendable".
