I'll be travelling to Beijing in a week's time and I was going to buy a HD video camera to film my trip ect, from ebay or amazon as the price is really good. Only now I'm scared it may to too late to order. Should I take gamble and hope it arrives in time or just buy one in Beijing at a comparable (or cheaper) price. I don't really mind if it has chinese lables on it ect.

The price of HD cideo camera you can get in China will be a little bit higher. Normally the smuggle camera will be cheaper .

What about if I had it sent to me in Beijing. Would there be issues with customs / import taxes ect?

If you buy one in Beijing, it will probably be more expensive than retail shops in your home country (which you don't state, but I am guessing is the US?). Too bad you are not going to Hong Kong, as there will be cheaper. I wouldn't have anything sent to Beijing. If it turns up at all, it will be late.
