| guest01002 | Hi, I have the option of going to Yangshuo & Guilin for just one full day or stay one night and leave the next morning leaviing from Shenzhen or Guangzhou. Instead of arriving and leaving from Guilin, I wonder if it is time-saving to arrive Yangsuo(by train or bus ?) and come back from Guilin ? Anyone know if there is any express bus or train from GZ or SZ to Yangsuo ? |

 | There is no train station in Yangshuo. There are overnight buses from both SZ and GZ to Guilin, which stop in Yangshuo about an hour before arriving in GL. Your other option is to get the overnight train (more comfortable than the bus) which departs from SZ, but also stops in GZ. Then take a 1 hour bus from outside the station to Yangshuo (15 yuan max). You will arrive in YS about 8am regardless which method you use. If you get any time after your river cruise, rent a bike and go down by the Yulong river. You can also rent a bamboo raft there or go swimming. At night, there isn't much to do except eat bad food on West Street. |

| I'd skip the river cruise..it's long and while pleasant is not worth the time if u have only one day. Yangshou is not China but a tourist destination. Take a daylight train in and out of Guilin and you will see much of the beautiful scenery. You can then emjoy Guilin for the Day. |

| Maybe make a short river cruise at Xingping. It's the most beautiful area anyway. This takes about1 hour. And then maybe rent a bike an go to Yulong river. Maybe this helps you for your plans: http://www.travel-picture-blog.com/ Todd |
