Information for Extended Touristic stay in China
Jul 1, 2008 12:13
guestDavid Hi everyone,

Sorry for posting as a guest,

Here is my situation :

I will be travelling around Asia next year. The itinerary looks like Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and so on.

I'd enter China via Weidong ferry in Qingdao.
I'd exit China via Air Asia in Shenzen.

My question is : If I want to stay more than 30 days, can I go to Hong Kong after 29 days, fill form for a new visa then go back in China for another 30 days ?

I'd love to get some information as it is crucial for my planning.

Thanks a lot

You may apply for and be issued more than thirty days for an L visa but if you can do just as you suggested but you don't have to leave the mainland. You can apply at any PSB office in any city for an extension to an L visa.

Just allow your self a few working days prior to expiry of your existing visa just in case it is not successful and to allow time for you application to be processed.
