![]() | Floods ravaged the South China since the beginning of June, claiming 252 lives and 64 missing. June and July marked the start of the main flood season in most parts of China. About 50,000,000 people were affected by the floods. 200,000 houses were destroyed, according to the Office of State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters. This year, China has seen more rainfalls than the average annual rains that are expected int the Yellow River areas and and the Southwest China.The worst floods in the past five decades hit the Pearl River Delta. Guangdong and Guangxi were severely affected. A premary school was flooded at Zhoupi Town in south China's Guangdong Province. ![]() |
