They were the first travelers aboard on the first wave of regular weekend cross-straits direct charter flights in nearly six decades. Taiwan has been a desirable destination for mainland tourists. Due to the instable cross-straight relations, it was only a dream for most of mainland tourists. Weekend charter flights will help the avid mainland tourists realize their dreams. Taiwan peoplpe also welcome the weekend charter flights. The local media said “weekend charter flights will change Taiwan people's lives" and "will help develop Taiwan's economy with a much freer flow of people and investment".
