14 cannons ready for Olympic Games

The 14 cannons, specially developed to salute the visitors during the Olympic Games, were tested on July7,2008 in Taiyuan city, Shanxi Province. After the test-firing, the 14 cannons will soon be delivered to Beijing.

Usually, a 21 cannon-salute is given to a visiting head of a foreign state. Altogether, over 1,600 cannon-salute will be fired in the August 8 Games.
