Why do some many countries want to purchase US F-35?

Heard the news that a few countries want to by F-35 from the USA. The F-35 aircrafts were said to be extremely expensive? Why did so many countries still want to buy F-35. Does F-35 have any advantages over China's J-10? Is F-35 superior to B-2?
