Hi there,

USA and Isreal had a subtle relation. Once upon a time, Anti-seminitism was prevalent in USA. After the Second World War, USA gave the aid to Jews. Nevertheless, USA refused to take many Jewish refugees and refused to bomb RR tracks leading to concentration camps. Why did USA have somewhat contradictory response to Holocaust?

I read a book about this ages ago written by an American Jew.
She claimed that the US was quite aware of what was going on. For some reason the American Jewish lobby stayed silent on this. Her theory, as outrages as it seems was that they did not what more European Jews over there.
The Holocaust was hardly a secret. Hitler had made no secret of his intention.
Please read Mein kampf. Although many Germans denied after the war that they did not know what was going on, the Camps where not hidden away. Dachau is barely 10 minutes from down town Munich.
But certainly without huge monetary support from the US, Israel would not exist today.
I’m sorry I don’t remember the name of the author.

Even prior to WW2 there was somewhat of a planned capturing of the global economy and not by Hitler either.
How much of this that was aided by or interrupted by Hitler and his regime is a good question.
I will say that there were certain corporate and prominent individual elements in the U.S. at that time that would "not have been sorry" to have seen Hitler dominate the scene.
As a matter of fact, there were corporations that were playing both sides of the struggle. I.E. Mafia mentality.
Why these individuals and corporations were not hung or imprisoned or dismantled during and after the war probably goes along with "follow the money"
The "not knowing about the genocide" situation was a ruse and basically amounted to a genocide in it's own quiet way with the quotes of "Out of sight is out of mind" or Ignorance is bliss"
For a further reading of this type of mentality see info. about "The Bilderberg Group"

There was a war on. Intelligence and information gathered during wartime gets prioritized. The Germans did not actually begin killing Jews until 1942, three years into the war. A lot of people from occupied countries were moved around and made to work in farms and factories to benefit the Germans. There were a lot of camps :prisoner of war camps and labor camps.
The allies philosophy was to just get the war over as quickly as possible and concentrate on military objectives. With the benefit of hindsight we can say what should have been done but we weren't there at the time.
We can only hope that we have learned a lesson but when the U.S. intervenes in human rights issues today we get critisized so what else is new?

“The Germans did not actually begin killing Jews until 1942, three years into the war.”
Sorry Yinduffy, totally wrong
In 1942 Karski gave a full report of what was going on the Polish government in exile along with the British and American governments. Millions of people had been starved or tortured to death by then already.
If the US is being criticized today when it intervenes in Human rights issues perhaps it is just the inept way that it goes about it. Diplomacy has never been its strong point.

Dodger,
I guess its hard to be diplomatic when you have to make a decision about what is right and what is wrong.
Anyway, regarding the "Holocaust" and the Jews, it is a sensitive subject and there are many who are questioning many aspects of it. It was a dark period in human history: of that there is no doubt. The Twentieth Century has many such chapters, each a tragedy. Only by fully researching and gathering facts from all sources can we truly understand where the blame lies.
The U.S. had a massive campaign to help the starving Ukranians in the 1930's only we found out later it was deliberate and caused by Stalin's policies. We know now a little about how the Swiss helped the Germans move Jews to camps. Many in China will soon real the true story of their recent past.
You can read all about America's failures and mistakes and ask all the questions you like and get answers. Can you say as much about other countries?

Yinduffy,
“You can read all about America's failures and mistakes and ask all the questions you like and get answers. Can you say as much about other countries?”
Very true and something some here would find difficult to understand.
