A report from the Deutsche Bank says that China faces higher risk of the economic slowdown than that of inflation now. According to the report, China's export increase has decreased from 24 percent to 13 percent. In some places, 10 to 20 percent small and medium sized enterprises have closed up due to the capital shortage, reduced demand and high cost.

As Deutsche Banks' economist Ma Jun says, China's inflation pressure has been reduced compared with the beginning of 2008. The CPI has also declined from 8.5 percent in April to 7.1 percent in June. It is estimated that the CPI of July and August must be below 7 percent. The continued decrease in CPI has suggested that the inflation pressure has been reducing too.

Do you agree to the report?

Jimmy, Is there a link to this report. For the sake of keeping export oriented economy from declining, hope China could channel funds from current surplus fiscial account to public project on affordatble-housing, basic social security net hence cheap skilled and semi-skilled workers are able to keep or increase living standards depite the poor wages.

Marrie, I just read the news in Chinese and then translated it into English. I have tried to find the report but failed.
