![]() | I am planning on a trip to Zhanjiang in the beginning of August. I normally carry a pocket knife with me pretty much wherever I go. I am wondering if I will be allowed to have it or carry it with me while I am visiting China. (I know I cannot take it on the plane). Can anyone help me with the laws or rules? Thank you in advance, Brad |

![]() | Yes you can carry it around in China. I always travel with one but have been caught the odd time with unchecked luggage and nearly lost my ancient 'brownie' knife. Got another one now so don't care if I loose it. Make sure it is of no sentimental value. |

![]() | Thank you! Yes, I have already purchased a "cheapie" knife for travelling in case it is lost, but I do not want to attempt to do anything unacceptable or unlawful. I use my knife for practically everything, and would feel incomplete without it. Brad |

![]() | If you are, is a village it is impossible to find a can opener, period. Therefore, after a log search for an opener I settle for pocketknife at a market place, I paid 5.00 Yuan’s for it. Back to the States, I carry it with me because it turns out to be of a very high quality knife. 5 Yuan’s equals to 0.70 US Cents average. |
