The "pet" here is different from those dogs, cats etc, here refering to men. Don't be surprised. It is very popular in South Korea at present. Those young men without steady jobs and incomes posts their "resumes" on websites and the older professional women with steady income will contact them and bring them back home.

As a "pet", the man needs to prepare the breakfast for his "owner", do house chores, accompany his owner to movies or take a stroll on the streets etc. However, they are forbidden to enter his owner's room. If he wants to go out, he must get the permission from his owner. In South Korea, there is even a program that is called "Raising a pet: I am a pet."

Will you try to raise a man as a pet?

Another form of cohabitation? I am wondering how the man feels to be a "pet" of a woman. I feel sad for those men who choose to be pets of women.

I am wondering why the old career women want to have male " pets". Are thes women single? If not, are their husbands willing to allow them to keep " pet man" at home?

Are they for real?

This reminds me of manga Kimi Wa Petto (You’re My Pet) about a career woman who was dumped by her boyfriend because he wanted a woman who will be dependent on him and will make him feel like a ‘man’. The Harvard-educated (if I still remember it right) woman found a sleeping homeless young man in front of her house one night and took him in.

Hmm… maybe I should buy a plane ticket for South Korea next month. No, right now, I should buy the ticket right now and bring home a ‘pet’. LOL!

Leonardo, those women who seek male "pets" must be single. Otherwise, their husbands will divorce them. Wait! Is it possible that the "pet" becomes the "owner"?

CHERRY, I think it's a made up news. However, I hear there exists such "career" in young men that serve rich old housewives of businessmen and or rich/ women with power. Those men are called DUCKs.

COOLSPRINGS,

"Those men are called DUCKs." In China, they are called "Ducks". How do North Americans (canadians and americans) call "the male prostitutes"?
