Beijing reopened one of its oldest downtown commercial street (Qianmen Street) to tourists on August 7, one day prior to the opening ceremony of the Summer Games. The Qianmen Street, built in the Qing Dynasty, was located in south of the Tian’anmen Square. The historic city had undergone a massive renovation lasting about one year. During the Games, it will be a new cultural and tourist attraction.
