Stop praising yourselves. The one and only reason the opening ceremony was spectacular was for one reason and one reason only. It had nothing to do with Chinese culture. It was because China was willing to spend TONS AND TONS OF MONEY. It was a big show and a great one. True is showed many aspects of Chinese culture but it was all because the Chinese government wanted to outshine the rest of the world. Is it the culture to have a little girl lip-sync a song???? Get over yourselves, it was a great ceremony with a few underhanded tricks thrown in.

"It had nothing to do with Chinese culture"? Are you serious? Why are you so resentful? Without the splendid culture of 5,000 years, what do you to present to the rest of the world. I confess that China wants to show to the world how great it is. Is there anything wrong? All hosts of the past Olympics did their best to display the best of their countries to the rest of the world, didn't they?
