China reclaimed the 8-year-long-awaited team gold medal with 286.12 points. Japan ranked the second place in the event. USA took the bronze. Defending champion Japan suffered from a series of blunders and only overtook USA in the last rotation. Congratulations to them! China won the first ever women's gymnastics team gold a winning total of 188.900 points. United States took the silver with 186.525 points. Romania won the bronze with 181.525 points.
