![]() | As usual, you get on a taxi and tell the driver where you go but suddenly you find that there is a video camera in the taxi. How do you feel? A little bit nervous or angry? Some cities such as Chongqing, Wuhan and Nanchang, are going to equip cameras to the taxis. With the camera, the taxi company can clearly see what happens in the taxi. Even they can hear what the driver and passengers talk about. According to the company, they do this just for the sake of safety. With the camera, they can supervise if the driver does anything improper. As for the passengers, their interest will be protected. But the passengers don't think so. What they say and what they do are supervised by the camera. This makes them very uncomfortable. Sitting in the taxi is just like being in a prison. They have no privacy in the taxi. ![]() | Well, if I don't realize there is a camera, that is ok. If I notice it, I will feel quite uneasy. They shouldn't interfere the passenger's privacy. |

![]() | I wouldn't mind the camera. It's not like I will be doing something wrong inside the taxi anyway. But...what will it accomplish? Will it stop taxi drivers from overcharging? From my experience, it will not help. |

![]() | Lots of taxi drivers get robbed, some even killed. To rise the level of their security I would accept cameras. I think I would not feel uncomfortable about a camera in taxi. Maybe I start showing funny face to camera every time I enter taxi. Some day perhaps one of those guys see my face again and say: " No! He again!" Carlos |
