Are there any similarities between Chinese stock market and men’s football team? Yes. On August 8, Beijing Olympic Games formally commenced. On the same day, Chinese stock market welcomed a huge slump. The Shanghai Composite Index fell 4.47 percent. A surprise to the investors. On August 11th, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 5.21 percent and 700 shares in two Stock Exchanges plunged to the limit. The falling in the stock market has been going on in recent days. We don’t know when it will stop.

On August 7th, Chinese men’s Olympic team fought with New Zealand. The result was 1 to 1. On August 10th, they met Belgium. Finally, Belgium humiliated China with 2 goals. Meanwhile, two Chinese footballers got their red cards. On August 13th, Brazil just had fun with China. In that match, Brazil easily scored 3 goals. After that match, many Chinese fans have lost their confidence in Chinese men’s team. Many have sworn that they won’t watch any match of Chinese men’s team. Some even joked that men’s team should “borrow” Han Duan (the forward of women’s team) from women’s team since there was no good forward in men’s team. Some made a slogan “Cherish your lives and stay away from drugs and Chinese men’s soccer”. Chinese fans also don’t know where the future of Chinese men’s soccer is.

The stock market performed like Chinese men’s soccer team during the Olympics, falling again and again. Then the investors swear that they will cherish their lives and stay away from Chinese men’s soccer team and CHINESE STOCK MARKET”. However, can they fulfill their promise? Nope. Just like Chinese football fans, they hate and scold Chinese men’s team but still watch the matches and root for them. The investors won’t leave the stock market. They are just waiting for the recovery of Chinese stock market. There is still a glimmer of hope. But Chinese football fans have no hope at all.

Kevin, it is very interesting. The only difference is that the stock market once had its prosperous period last year. However, Chinese men's football team never gives us surprise.
