China’s Gymnast Zou Kai won a gold medal in men’s horizontal bar on Tuesday, exactly 100 days after the 8.0-magnitude earthquake destroyed his home province of Sichuan.

Zou Kai was a native in Lu Zhou in Sichuan Province. Once when he won his first gold last week, he hoped to share the honor with the forks in Sichuan. He said “It was their solidarity and unyielding spirit in the face of crisis that inspired me to perform well in the competition”.

Tuesday is the 100th day since the Wenchuan Earthquake claimed over 70,000 lives. Tuesday is the date to mourn the deceased according to Chinese tradition. People burnt “Paper Money” in front of the tombs. Zou’s gold medal was a comfort for the deceased folks.
