Britain’s athletes made a breakthrough in the Beijing Olympics: They have claimed 16 gold medals so far, which is the highest total of GB’s gold medal haul in 88 years. GB’s Queen and PM sent the congratulation mails to the GB’s Olympic Delegation. According to a spokesman of Buckingham Palace, the Queen shows great interest in Olympics and will entertain the athletes in October 11at Buckingham Palace. Britain’s athletes did well in swimming, sailing, rowboating and cycling in Beijing Olympiad. Five years later, Britain’s athletes will snatch gold medals at home. The grassroots of Britain are not high on the Olympics. What an Olympics will London present to the world four years later?

British cyclists won the gold in the men's team pursuit final in the Laoshan velodrome
