She had guided USA to a stunning victory over Cuba by 3：0 on Thursday August 21, 2008. Lang Ping is nicknamed ‘Iron Hammer’, and is the most respectable volleyball player in China. She was the leader of the Chinese National Volleyball Team in 1980s. She and her teammates won the gold medal over the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. In the preliminary matches of Beijing Olympics, she guided the USA Volleyball Team to a victory over her compatriots Chinese volleyball team. A majority of Chinese are expecting that China and USA can meet in the final,and to be best, China defeat the USA.
