Did the Beijing Olympics change your attitude towards China?
Aug 25, 2008 04:08
guestchinaboy The Olympic Games provide a good opportunity for the rest of the world to know better about China. A lot of you f(oreign people) didn't visit China. Before the Olympics, some even thought that all Chinese eat dog meat for three meals. In Beijing Olympic Village, the athletes know that there is also the tasty Beijing Roast Duck. What did you know about China prior to the Beijing Olympics? Have you got some extra knowledge of China, its people and culture? Has the Beijing Olympics changed your view on China?

For me the olympics did not bring anything really new, but I have noticed many people here talking about China more open and only China´s human rights situation and pollution but also about culture and so on. For many people seems to be a some sort of surprize how western like life in Chinese cities is.

I think Beijing olympics have really changed the view of China for many people here.

Personally, nothing really changed. Wouldn't it be weird if I suddenly change my view on China just because of the Olympics? Kind of weird like suddenly I find the guy hot just because I learned that he has a Rolls Royce. O_o

GUEST16592 It may change my view about China when a ticket was sold ten times from its original face value, and a service apartment with three rooms was offered USD1500 per day. I will indeed come again to China but in low season, where the same service apartment costs USD150 or less

Didnt change my opinion or for any of the people I know.
Probably because I have been to China several times, not just watched a show on TV
