![]() | The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afganistna (UNAMA) yesterday confirmd that the US-led coalition forces had killed 90 civillians in Western Heart province in a single day on Aug. 22. UNAMA released a statement said that convincing evidences had been found to prove that the killed included 60 children, 15 women and 15 women. Also on the same day, the US military said that only five militants were killed in the air raid operation on August 22. When will US troops pull out from Afghanistan? Will the next president order US troops to pull out from Afghanistan? If Obama was elected as president, would he do something different from his predecessor Bush? |

![]() | Unlikely that any US President will withdraw in a hurry. They are all too paranoid about anything they don't fully understand...and that means most of the world outside the US. And 'loss of face' is not just an idea that just exists in China. |

![]() | Either Barack Obama or John McCain is crowned, the destiny of Afghanistan won't change! The next president of USA won't change Bush's policy on Afghanistan. |

The U.S.'s leaving should have happened long ago but that would have been critisized as deserting a people threatened by marauding bands of religious nuts. The Pakistani government has little control over the northern mountain tribes who facilitate border crossings by bad guys. Keep them out and the country will stabilize. In the meantime, villages are harassed by groups of bad guys who destroy newly built schools and their teachers because they believe that reading the Koran is the only education that boys need. Girls should not be educated at all. I feel sorry for the Afghan people. |

It is used to justify USA's military presence in Iraq, Afghanistan and the rest of the world? |

![]() | A famous quote reads " the road to hell is paved with good intentions." The U.S. went into those countries with the best of intentions but the situation developed into a nightmare. In retrospect, I believe the U.S. should not have paid any attention to Saddam Hussein's actions or to the Taliban's treatment of Afghans. The neighboring countries should have been responsible for keeping their neighbors in line. My tax dollars are being used to fund development projects all around the world including rebuilding Afghan villages and Iraqi power plants. Locals destroy things and we rebuild. They destroy again and we rebuild. It is time to say goodbye and good luck. |

GUEST2646 ![]() | All Americans thought that they are altruistic. The reason why USA went into Iraq is "going for oil". Controling Afghanistan is part of USA's conspiracy to contain China. |

![]() | Would Obama do something different than Bush in regards to Afghanistan? IMO....No....the same people(?) that controlled Bush will be controlling Obama(irregardless of what Obama says in his campaign about Afghanistan) As of now....there is basically no difference between the Republicans and the Democrats....as both are dominated by "special interest" groups. |
