Thinking of moving to China

GUESTDAVE I see a lot of information flaoting around here, especially revolving around visa's, that is what I was most worried about as I intend to move to Shenzhen to teach English, I also have a growing irritation of the U.K population, it seems that they are falling in standards and tradition, this is why I so dearly would love a permanent move to China.
I chose Shenzhen Pickle for the reason that a lot of people speak English better than most and you are 30 minutes from Hong Kong(amazing place), in Shenzhen, it is a well built city with good trade, but the great thing is it's not GOGOGO, like you would expect London for example, and the people are very friendly there.
I have friends dotted around China and from experience it will also depend on what you want to do and who you want to meet, as morales and traditions vary from province to province.
If you find any more information on permanent stay in China please E-mail me on hotmail.com|Dave-guthrie as I am very keen to find an answer.
Thanks Dave

I've been living in China for a decade now after having the same feeling in the UK myself.
In my humble opinion Beijing is the best place to live if you're an expat.
I found HK to be great for a week but too much like living in a cramped London for my liking.
Shanghai was like a wannabe HK, might as well be in HK if that is what you're looking for.
Beijing is much more raw but has much more soul with that. It's cheaper to live in and there's a great vibe amongst the expats living here.
It has changed so much over the last decade and continues to do so while still keeping enough of the past. I feel priviliged to be part of that.
Visas have gotten much more expensive and for some tricky in the lead up to the 60th anniversary but I'm sure that is a minor problem.

Hope this helps

GUEST47162 Hi pickle,

Is really depends what you are looking for, as they said, shanghai is vibrant, beijing is raw, hongkong is vivid, and if are seeking for peaceful living, you may consider kunming, the weather is brilliant there. Beijing, shanghai and guangzhou summer is killing, hong kong is slightly better in summer but kunming, highest it goes is around 27 ceclius.....think about it.

GUEST00202 It's bloody awful living in U.S. I live in California and its full of ugly Latina mixed whites and Latinas. They are short, mean, rude, and they loves to steal from you. I had my 2 bicycles stolen and they're not even the expensive kind. Health care is a system with the only purpose to make the Jews more rich. Americans are getting on my nerves by days. They are self righteous to the point of disgusting. IRA (the tax bureau) will *** with anyone when they see fit. People are phony and fake. Not possible to make any friends here.
I need to move to China. Where there still are people who is true to their friends. There are more interesting and diverse. Just so sick of America.

GUEST33222 I'm afraid you will find exactly the same problems in any country my friend. There are some Chinese people who are quite happy to steal from you too..........and umm...the Chinese are not known for being tall.
