![]() | You cannot get a Z visa to accompany a family member. You can only get an L visa to do that. You also cannot get a Z visa issued in China - it needs to be done in your country of citizenship. If you think it is "too much hassle to ask for a (airline ticket) refund" wait until you see how much hassle obtaining a Z visa is! You will need a company sponsorship (from a government approved company which can employ foreigners), a university degree, and a medical done here in China. Sounds like a ticket refund is less hassle! |

![]() | You can just get a one way ticket as far as China is concerned. However some airports (London airports for example) can be difficult about this as they are concerned that the airlines are responsible if you are not allowed to stay. |

![]() | Oh dear - The first rule you will learn when you come to live in China is to never believe anything you are told by officials or official literature. They tell you one thing one day, and then the next day it will be different story. Thankfully there are only 7 days in the week! If you want to come to China for 12 months to visit a family member, then you can do this on an L visa. However, the family member must have all the right documentation (rather than just a F visa!). Come to China on a 3 month L visa, and then you can get a new one here (for visiting family members only). You cannot get a Z visa unless you are being employed in China. |
